FAQs

What is a handpoked tattoo?

Handpoked tattoos use sterile, on bar tattoo needles to insert tattoo ink into the skin without the use of an electric powered tattoo machine. The big differences are that handpoke can take more time, are much quieter, and easier to heal than machine tattoos! The process is a gentler, more intimate experience.

Is your studio accessible?

The Artists' Quarter has two entrances. One has a small concrete step, and the second is around the side of the building, and has no steps. The washroom has a metal grab bar beside the toilet, and space to accommodate a wheelchair. All of the doors in the space are 2 feet 9 inches wide.

As for tattoo session specifics, I will always welcome books, headphones, fidget devices, phones etc. for you to have during your tattoo. I will always ask if you prefer a silent session, or if you like to chat! It is extremely important to me to be able to accommodate any requirements or requests to make your time with me as safe and comfortable as possible. Everything I do during our session is done with your explicit consent, always.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, but PLEASE ask if it's okay beforehand! I'm happy to have a support person or friend there for your session, but the space is very cozy!

** Note: I do require masks to be worn by everyone that's going to be in the studio space before/after/during your tattoo session!

Where are you located?

I am currently working out of studio 8 (Easy Goes Ink) in the Artists' Quarter 2594 Agricola Street, halifax, ns

How do I book?

The "Book a Tattoo" link above will take you to my booking form! Fill that out (an email with your request will be sent straight to my email) and you will receive a response within a few days!

I only confirm booking once I've received a deposit, which I ONLY ask for once all the details are solidified, and ONLY through e-transfer.

Do you accept custom requests?

I do!

Things I like to tattoo : Botanicals, gay/trans/queer/nsfw things, queering historical art (transifying greek statues, etc.), anything that you feel would look good in my style!

Generally, I will tattoo mostly anything because I feel that folks come to me for the experience and environment and care I provide more than anything else.

*** I will NOT tattoo something that someone else has created, unless you and I get permission directly from the artist.

Payment/Tipping?

For payment, I take cash or e-transfer.

I price by the piece, based on how big, detailed, and how long I think it'll take to tattoo! I will always send you a quote beforehand, and I am always always open to working with budgets and splitting up payments over time.

Tipping is never mandatory or expected! But I do love and appreciate it when I get a tip, whether monetary or a piece of art, a warm beverage, a high five etc.!

Can/ do you tattoo melanated skin?

YES! Any tattoo artist that says they can't, doesn't want to, and isn't worth your time and money.
